Depressurization
Depressurization is the controlled process of lowering chamber pressure back to normal atmospheric levels at the end of a session.
Depressurization occurs at the end of a hyperbaric session when the chamber pressure is gradually returned to ambient levels. A slow, controlled descent helps occupants equalize comfortably and avoid rapid pressure changes. OxyEdge chambers use monitored systems and relief valves to support safe, gradual depressurization.
This entry is part of the OxyEdge Hyperbaric Glossary, a plain-language reference covering the pressure, oxygen-delivery, and chamber-construction terms you will encounter when researching mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Understanding this vocabulary makes it easier to compare chamber specifications, evaluate safety features, and ask the right questions before purchasing a chamber for a clinic, wellness center, or home.
