ATA (Atmospheres Absolute)
ATA is a unit of pressure used to describe the total pressure inside a hyperbaric chamber, where 1.0 ATA equals normal sea-level atmospheric pressure.
ATA stands for atmospheres absolute and measures the total pressure acting on a body, including the surrounding atmosphere. At sea level the ambient pressure is 1.0 ATA, and hyperbaric chambers raise this value above 1.0 to increase pressure. Mild hyperbaric chambers typically operate between 1.3 and 1.5 ATA, while OxyEdge hard-shell chambers can reach up to 2.0 ATA depending on the model.
